Reid Park Zoo Temple of Tiny Monkeys
The Reid Park Zoo added a new exhibit in its South America section for some of the park’s smallest inhabitants; the Squirrel Monkey. An aging snack bar was converted into the monkeys’ indoor habitat and zookeeper’s space, complete with temple themed block work and vines. An exterior caged exhibit was also constructed around a faux buttress tree complete with vines for swinging. The temple theme also extended to the attached public restrooms and site lighting. As a special treat, zoo guests can stop to take photos at the new temple throne with a custom life-like statue of the zoo’s newest attraction.
